Episode 21: Eyepatch Fetish (Hostage)

This week’s episode is a doozy. It’s a weird one, it’s kind of uncomfortable, and we were really weird and woozy because it was midnight when we started recording this. Which means it’s one of the funniest episodes we’ve recorded. Maybe. It’s Hostage, written by Allan Prior and aired on February 27, 1979.

At the end of this recording session, around 1 in the morning, after recording Zenith, we both walked to our cars. We looked at each other, dead inside, dead on the outside. Just dead all around. “Never again.” It’s The Unicorn and the Wasp, written by Gareth Roberts and aired on May 17, 2008.

I was finally there, 200 episodes and still no one cares.

Turns out both Kiyan and Dylan have daughters, I mean, who would have guessed that? They have their own podcast, it’s called “She’s Your Doctor” or something like that. You can tell I’m making this up as I go along really. It’s The Doctor’s Daughter, written by Stephen Greenhorn and aired on May 10, 2008.

Chris Boucher is back. Well he never actually left, but he’s back, or something like that. Travis is back too, but he’s gone rogue now, much like Chris when you think about it. First he was doing Terry’s (Servalan’s) bidding, and now he’s going off and doing his own thing without that pesky overbearing boss. It’s Trial, written by Chris Boucher and aired on February 13, 1978.

Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve, Ocean’s Thirteen

Well, at least I can read the movie and watch the book.

This month we watched something that’s been on my list for a long time. They’re pretty different from anything we’ve watched before actually, these are the first proper “heist” movies that we’ve watched for this podcast. We’ve run through quite a gamut of genres so it’s kind of cool to find one we haven’t found it. It’s Oceans Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen, directed by Steven Soderbergh and released in 2001, 2004, and 2007.
