230: Yippie and Company (Closing Time)

Bring back yippie honestly. Best Character 2k11.

The biggest disappointment in this episode is that the song “Closing Time” is nowhere to be seen anywhere in this story. It’d be perfect, you know? It’d be that exact thing that Kiyan hates, kind of like that time they used “Iron Man” in the movie, Iron Man. It’s Closing Time, written by Gareth Roberts and aired on September 24, 2011.

It’s a good thing we were joined by Sgt. Draino this week, so that we can decide which one of us to throw out of the airlock to make sure that this podcast makes it out of orbit. That’s right, we’re recording the final episode in space which means we have to drop one of three people. Who’s it gonna be? It’s Orbit, written by Robert Holmes and aired on December 7, 1981.

229: If We Stop the Podcast, We Die (The God Complex)

At least we only have to do this for the rest of our lives.

Look. I run this podcast. I edit it. I maintain the website. Basically what I’m saying is that it’s my podcast. No one else’s. Am I doing this God Complex thing right? I actually don’t think I am now that I think about it. Close enough. I’ll have to look at Steven Moffat for more examples I guess. I’ve got a delivery here for Mr. Schreiber?

Well this is a little unfortunate. This movie was pretty lackluster at best, and outright bad at worst. Which is a shame because you’d think the “real life Rocky” would have a much much better movie. Something on the order of, oh I don’t know. Rocky. It’s Chuck, directed by Philippe Falardeau, and released on May 5, 2017.

228: Everything Could Be an Elaborate Lie (The Girl Who Waited)

Good lord, I don’t think I’ve ever thought of that until now.

This week we locked ourselves in a plain white room to record. It actually kind of sucked, because I usually zone out looking at my keyboard when we record these things. Kind of like entering a podcasting metastate, but that’s ok. We figured it out. Might switch to this plain white room approach for every episode moving forward. It’s The Girl Who Waited, written by Tom McRae, and aired on September 10, 2011.

Episode 48: Decorative Tarrant Ft. Argy (Sand)

We may have discovered a new Blake’s 7 related website name.

Thankfully, when we record, we record as far as possible from any sand that could kill us. Just in case we keep the recording area completely air tight, which basically means we have to record the entire episode before we run out of oxygen and die. You could argue that that’s a massive mistake, but we don’t think so. Gotta keep that sand out. It’s Sand, written by Tanith Lee and aired on November 23, 1981.
