Second Doctor

68: The Mark Hamill Level “No” (The Three Doctors)

No, Susan, I am your grandfather! NOOOOOOO!

This week Kiyan and Dylan are visited by some very special people… And they’re late, to boot. It’s very weird, but at least it’s somehow related to The Three Doctors, which featured the return of Patrick Troughton and William Hartnell to the role of the Doctor. The serial was written by Bob Baker and David Martin, and it aired from the 30th of December, 1972 through the 20th of January, 1973 as a 10th anniversary special.

Super Ep. 3: Turns Out, He’s a Jedi

This super cut is not late. *hand wave*

This episode is a super cut of episodes 52 and 53, comprising the entirety of The War Games. This should be the final released super cut, but you never know really. The War Games was written by Malcolm Hulke and Terrance Dicks and aired in April through June of 1967.

53: It’s the Time Lords, Messing With Our Brains! (The War Games 6-10)

If I could recognizably type out the rhythm to a sad song, I would.

[This is a Video Episode!] This week Kiyan and Dylan finish up The War Games, and then take a teary eyed look back at the Second Doctor, and his companions Jamie and Zoe. The War Games was written by Malcolm Hulke and Terrance Dicks and the second half aired in April and June of 1969.

52: History: When Did it Happen? (The War Games 1-5)

By my calculations, it happened tomorrow.

Kiyan and Dylan this week explored the first 5 episodes of Troughton’s swan song, The War Games. It was written by Terrance Dicks and Malcolm Hulke. The first 5 episodes aired between April and May of 1969.

51: We Should Definitely Sing Opera (The Space Pirates)

I probably know someone who can sing opera.

This week Kiyan and Dylan dive into the surprisingly underwhelming penultimate Second Doctor serial, The Space Pirates. It was written by Robert Holmes and it aired in March and April of 1969.

50: The Return Of Sssssss (The Seeds of Death)

That way more exciting serial with a way less exciting podcast episode!

Welcome to 2015, TYD fans! This week Kiyan and Dylan take a journey into The Seeds of Death, not the be confused with the later 4th doctor serial, The Seeds of Doom. The Seeds of Death was written by Brian Hayles and aired in January and March of 1969.

49: Don’t Massacre Races, Kids (The Krotons)

The best plans are foolproof from all angles – Kiyan, 2014

This week Kiyan and Dylan watched The Krotons, not to be confused with the salad topping, croutons. They believe this to pretty middle of the road quality wise. Could this be a sign of things to come? The Krotons was written by Robert Holmes and was aired in December of 1968 and January of 1969. Also this is our final episode of 2014! See you all in the new year!

Since we had a few good ones, here’s a list of alternate titles for this episode:
Zoe, Destroyer of Worlds
Some Guy Just Throws the Boulder on Thara
Parasitic Race Things
Don’t Trust Everything We Say

48: Revive the Russians! (The Invasion 5-8)

Revive Russia would be a good band name. Dibs!

This week Kiyan and Dylan complete The Invasion episodes 5-8. These episodes aired in December of 1968. Like episodes 1-4, they were written by Peter Bryant and were based on an idea by Kit Pedler.

47: What if Internet Explorer is a Cover? (The Invasion 1-4)

I knew it! Microsoft is behind everything!

This week Kiyan and Dylan watched only the first 4 episodes of The Invasion. They did this because that although they claim they have a TARDIS, they actually do not, and therefore have a limited amount of time during the week to watch episodes. The Invasion was written by Peter Bryant and the first 4 episodes aired in November of 1968. Like the Moonbase and The Wheel in Space, it was based on an idea by Kit Pedler.
