57: Too Many Paradoxes! (Inferno)

Great Scott! That many paradoxes could destroy the universe!

This week Kiyan and Dylan not only finish season 7, but also the tenure of Liz Shaw as de facto companion. They also wander into the alternate universe in Inferno, written by Don Houghton and aired in May and June of 1970.

56: Cardboard Cutout of Hartnell (The Ambassadors of Death)

Plot twist: The First Doctor returns! (Just kidding!)

This week Kiyan and Dylan investigate The Ambassadors of Death, which featured hilariously overpowered villains. Also, they take a dive into the themes of Malcolm Hulke, including xenophobia and socialism! And they discuss the Doctor’s characterizations and the start of the reboot! The Ambassadors of Death was credited to David Whitaker, although it was actually mostly written by Trevor Ray for episode 1 and Malcolm Hulke for episodes 2-7.  It aired in March and May of 1970.

55: Divergent Species. Line. Thing. (Doctor Who and the Silurians)

Divergence is actually a pretty fun word to say.

This week Kiyan and Dylan encounter what is probably the darkest ending so far in Doctor Who and the Silurians. It was written by Malcolm Hulke (co-writer of The War Games) and it aired in January through March of 1970.
