(One and Done) Episode 1: Don’t Listen to This

This is not a joke, we’re done with Doctor Who.

Let the past die, kill it if you have to. And we did. Trust Your Doctor is dead. I’m sorry if you liked the show, but it’s done now. We’re going to replace it with a podcast that has much less overhead, it takes less time to make, and edit, and is just generally easier. Sorry. This week we review Trust Your Doctor Episode 1, which released on January 24, 2014.

Show-notes:

0:20 Trust Your Doctor is dead. Long live One and Done.
1:01 Zenith is still going though.
1:32 RIP in pieces 42 to Doomsday.
1:36 Never heard of Complete Menagerie.
6:50 Here’s The Great Titanic Conspiracy on Amazon if you want to get it for some reason.

182: Play the Benny Hill Theme Over This (Love and Monsters)

Couldn’t make the episode any worse.

Things are about to get pretty rocky on the show. Trust Your Doctor and Doctor Who. Both of them. Look it’s just bad, it’s that point in the year where we have to wonder if it’s really worth continuing the show anymore. Because Doctor Who is a bit ropey right now. It’s Love and Monsters, written by Russell T. Davies and aired on June 17, 2006.

Show-notes:

6:47 For Christmas 2017 we read The Hopes and Fears of all the Years by Paul Cornell. Check out that episode here.
12:15 Shirley Henderson. I guess she’s one of those actors who uses one voice across all roles.
21:21 Yeah, ELO has been around for like 20 years total. Started in 1970 and is still going, with a long hiatus somewhere in there.
41:02 We just started a new Blake’s 7 podcast where we watch Blake’s 7 for the first time and discuss it. Check out Zenith here.

The Star Wars Holiday Special

“In the arms…. of… a wooookieee… FLY AWAAAAY.”

You may notice something a bit different. Or maybe not, maybe you totally missed it. The podcast has been decked out in full holiday attire with a temporary intro and outro from the Nutcracker ballet. Consider it the Triple Play Holiday Special, an hour long jokes fest about the Star Wars Holiday Special. Which was aired on November 17, 1978. No seriously, this is our Holiday Special. We made it up on the spot; it’s literally just a string of dumb jokes. And as a bonus, it’s way better than the Star Wars one. Enjoy.

Torture yourself with the Holiday Special itself here.

As an aside, sorry, the audio clips a lot as a result of us laughing so much. There’s also a lot of sniffing. Winter just set in, and we weren’t prepared.
