Episode 30: Cosplay Imposters (Dawn of the Gods)

Next comic-con I’ll cosplay as Roj Blake, I think.

This week we commit sacrilege! I mean, turns out gods are real, we totally just like, ragged all over them, and then they just came on down and struck us down so we regret to inform you that the podcast will no longer be continuing. We’re dead. It’s Dawn of the Gods, written by James Follet and aired on January 28, 1980.

Show-notes:

11:47 More about Chanda Prescod-Weinstein
15:26 Couldn’t find any Blake’s 7 playing cards, but I did find these Blake’s 7 greeting cards.
19:53 Blake’s 7 in Character is pretty much the best Blake’s 7 podcast.
1:06:00 Here is a link to Sgt. Draino’s picture of Space Monopoly.
1:10:28 Making Blake’s 7 is the best Blake’s 7 Twitter account. It documents the making of Blake’s 7 in “real time” but 40 years later.

181: Satan Comes Down Your Chimney (The Impossible Planet & The Satan Pit)

Every Christmas I think to my self “Move over Santa, it’s Satan’s time to shine now.” It never works.

This week we’re not Kiyan and Dylan anymore, it’s edgy and dark Kiyan and Dylan. The goth versions of us if you will. We hail Satan and draw upside down crosses because we think it’s cool. It’s The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit, written by Matt Jones and aired on June 3rd and 10th, 2006.

5:24 Plo Koon.

111: Papier-Mâché Shia LaBeouf Head (The Horns of Nimon)

Running through the night… It’s the Nimon! Actual cannibal Nimon!

Watch out, it’s the Space Minotaur! He’s chasing us down! Well, may as well take a quick break here and listen to Trust Your Doctor, I’m sure the minotaur will wait. I mean, Kiyan and Dylan are discussing The Horns of Nimon, written by Anthony Read, and aired in December of 1979 and January of 1980. Unfortunately for us, this serial was released 2 years before Rambo. Pity.
