Episode 42: Bleak’s 7 (Traitor)

It’s even bleak visually, it’s all brown.

One of the two of us is a dirty, dirty traitor who sold out the podcast. Can you guess which one of us two it is? It’s probably pretty obvious but you know, why not try and guess anyway? It’s Traitor, written by Robert Holmes and aired on October 12, 1981.

Show-notes:

7:01 Killer was the one with the virus, not the one with IMIPAK. Still a great episode.
10:24 Check out Trust Your Doctor, our Doctor Who podcast. We’ve been watching Doctor Who in order from the beginning for almost 5 years now.
18:44 I just chucked Chuck onto the list of shows I’m going to watch someday.
47:02 According to the 5 seconds I just spent on Google, “south” in Afrikaans can be either “zuid” or “suid.”
49:59 I’m glad the Crush, Texas incident took place in the 1800s. Makes it more funny for some reason.

Episode 15: Luke Skywalker Cosplay (Shadow)

Everyone in my family has the force or something I don’t remember the quote anymore.

Finally Terry gave up on writing stories for Blake’s 7. Only took him 14 damn episodes to finally hand the reigns over to someone else. Although arguably the reigns didn’t go very far, just like, one seat to the right. To Christ Boucher. It’s Shadow, written by Chris Boucher and aired on January 16, 1979.

Show-notes:

14:10 Logan’s Run was a novel at first, then it was adapted into a movie and a tv series that came out a year before Blake’s 7.
16:24 Blake’s 7 in Character is a new Blake’s 7 podcast.
17:53 Dark Matter is a tv series.
26:10 Vaster than Empires and More Slow is a story by Ursula Le Guin.
52:10 Benny’s 7.
53:34 Space Fall is another new Blake’s 7 podcast.
54:54 Not going to bother looking up which podcast actually said this, but Shake and Blake is probably the first Blake’s 7 podcast ever.

110: The Real Radiation Experience (Nightmare of Eden)

Please fasten your seat belts and put on your radiation helmets.

This week, the question at large is, does the serial make a political point? Well actually the question is, as usual, can Kiyan and Dylan summarize a serial without totally failing? Listen in and find out if Nightmare of Eden can answer both of these questions. It was written by Bob Baker and aired in November and December of 1979.
