Sapphire and Steel 5 – Assignment 5

I forgot my name again too. I can’t remember if I was Kiyan or Dylan.

We’ve trapped ourselves in an old-timey estate house in order to experience this episode to its fullest. We’re actually not sure who else is locked in here with us, I didn’t check to see if the property was vacated before we decided to record in here. I can hear a weird stone statue mouthing off in the basement so that’s pretty weird. It’s Assignment 5, written by Don Houghton and Anthony Read and aired between August 11th and 26th, 1981.

Show-notes:

1:27: Check out our Doctor Who podcast, Trust Your Doctor: A Doctor Who Podcast, if you want to listen to us talk about Doctor Who.
30:56: Ok, so apparently ley lines are a way bigger irl deal than I thought they were. I found a few super legit sites like this one and this one that discuss birds and other animals moving and migrating across ley lines. Pretty interesting reads if nothing else.
33:07: I did a little googling about this and didn’t really find anything on it, but I did find this article about what happens when bacteria get viruses. So that’s pretty interesting.
48:12: Yes, apparently bronze does have copper in it.
1:08:26: Check out Zenith: A Blake’s 7 Podcast, our Blake’s 7 Podcast. Also, the station that St. Clinton originally watched Blake’s 7 on was KTEH (now called KQEH). This station has shown a lot of British sci-fi in the San Francisco Bay Area over the years.
